HARPER WOODS, Mich. (WJRT) – An Oakland County man graduated from college and cashed in on a $110,000 Fantasy 5 Double Play prize on the same day.
The Michigan Lottery says the 27-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous, matched the Fantasy 5 Double Play numbers on May 15, 2025, to win the big prize: 03-10-18-22-39.
He bought the winning ticket at Paramount Foods, located at 19230 Harper Ave. in Harper Woods, and claimed the prize less than a week before his ticket expired.
“A few days after the drawing, I checked the winning numbers and found out I was the winner of a $110,000 prize,” the player said.
The lucky winner said he typically buys a Fantasy 5 or Lotto 47 ticket whenever he has a few extra dollars in his pocket.
“When I won, I knew I would be graduating college the following spring, so I decided to wait to cash the ticket until then so I could use the money to pay off my tuition and have a fresh start after college,” he said. “Although it was hard to wait, it’s been reassuring knowing I have a huge amount of money waiting for me.”
The lucky player recently visited Michigan Lottery headquarters to claim his prize. With his winnings, he plans to pay off his college tuition, take a trip and then save the remainder.
“Today, I graduated college and cashed in a $110,000 lottery prize, so I’d say that’s pretty cool,” the player said.
