BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A 33-year-old Bakersfield woman was arrested for suspicion of DUI after CHP says she drove the wrong way on Highway 99 Saturday night, injuring another driver.
The California Highway Patrol said on Saturday, May 9, at around 9:10 p.m., officers were dispatched to a call of a wrong-way driver in the area of northbound Highway 99 at Rosedale Highway.
CHP said preliminary reports indicate a 33-year-old woman from Bakersfield was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Impala southbound in the number one lane of northbound Highway 99 at an unknown rate of speed.
At the same time, an 18-year-old female was driving a 2003 Honda Accord northbound on Highway 99, south of Rosedale Highway.
CHP said for reasons still under investigation, the front of the Chevrolet collided with the Honda.
