6 vehicles impounded following Mesa Marin Sports Complex ‘takeover’ gathering: Bakersfield PD
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Bakersfield Police Department said it impounded six vehicles after investigating a parking lot takeover last month at the Mesa Marin Sports Complex.
Officials with the police department said the traffic unit became aware of a planned parking lot takeover that was scheduled for April 17 at the Mesa Marin Sports Complex at 10315 Highway 178.

Officials said the needed personnel was not available at the time to prevent the gathering, but the department’s traffic unit conducted follow up investigations in relation to the event. Investigators looked into reckless driving at the parking lot and surrounding roads following the event.
The police department asks residents to contact them when they are aware of similar large vehicle gatherings.
