OAKLAND — Prosecutors have dismissed the case against a woman accused of “assisting” another person who is accused of trafficking a 15-year-old girl.
The case against 25-year-old Kamaria Nelson lasted less than three months. She was charged in late February with pandering and robbery for allegedly assisting a man accused of trafficking the girl, including by stealing condoms from Target for the girl to use. The alleged trafficker was never arrested and charged, according to court records.
On May 6, the Alameda County District Attorney’s office dismissed the case against Nelson. A minute order from the hearing says the DA cited “the interests of justice.”
Nelson still faces an unrelated pending theft case in Alameda County, filed last April, court records show.
The case stemmed from a 2025 investigation, which started when a girl told police she was trafficked after leaving a group home, but got out of the situation without being sexually abused, according to court records.
