La Peer Hotel unwraps joy through dessert

Beginning Nov. 8, esteemed pastry chef Chris Ford and partner Caryn Sterling bring Ford’s imaginative dessert concept and lifestyle brand, BUTTERLOVE&HARDWORK, to life at the La Peer Hotel in West Hollywood. Marking Ford’s first brick-and-mortar storefront, BUTTERLOVE&HARDWORK will operate its Residency at La Peer through early 2026, with plans for rapid expansion throughout the country and around the world.

More than just a shop, BUTTERLOVE&HARDWORK is an edible showroom where pastry and chocolate serve as canvases for Ford’s artistry. The visionary and viral chef, who first found himself in the spotlight after breaking the internet with Kim Kardasian and his now signature breakable heart in 2018, has spent over a decade dreaming up his collection of luxurious, yet approachable products that guests can now purchase and experience within his space.

Much like fashion houses unveil new collections each season, Ford will continually evolve his offerings throughout the residency to challenge standards and redefine what dessert can be. At the time of its debut, guests can experience and shop a selection of his most signature chocolate pieces along with new concepts never released or seen before, with price points suitable for every palate.

Additionally, guests can make selections from the first-of-its-kind luxury chocolate vending machine, stocked with chocolate confections and butter bars. And what’s a pastry without coffee? Behind the counter, guests can order iced beverages from Ford’s HARDWORK Coffee, which uses ethically sourced, small batch beans to create a bold, smooth medium roast. Coffee is served in special packaging created by Ford to give drinkers a heightened sipping experience. Merch designed by Ford is also available for purchase.

Starting Nov. 8, BUTTERLOVE&HARDWORK is open daily from 8 a.m.-6 p.m.

Couture meets cuisine at Monsieur Dior

On Oct. 24, three-Michelin-starred chef Dominique Crenn – whose Atelier Crenn recently ranked on North America’s Top 50 Best Restaurant List – debuted Monsieur Dior. Located in Beverly Hills, it is the first restaurant outside of Paris for the House of Dior. The venture follows the success of Crenn Dining Group’s recent Dallas restaurant, Café Dior by Dominique Crenn, which opened this past February.

Promising a unique experience on the third floor of House of Dior Beverly Hills, the one-of-a-kind restaurant showcases the passion of the founding-couturier – who described himself as “gourmand” – for the culinary arts.

An exclusive sanctuary, the new private venue offers a tailor-made menu in a setting that blends heritage and modernity. Designed by architect Peter Marino, the space combines the spirit of 30 Montaigne with laid-back Californian style. Bright chartreuse green, abstract fabrics and a botanical wall create a warm, elegant atmosphere.

The most Michelin-starred female chef in the United States shares Christian Dior’s love of nature and beauty. Her menu includes black truffle agnolotti, seared scallops with blood orange, beef tartare with egg yolk jam and abalone served with anchovy and pepper sauce – all enhanced by seasonal vegetables. For dessert, enjoy Hojicha tea bavarois, citrus panna cotta and other refined delicacies.

A curved bar crafted in ebony and onyx, overlooked by a ceiling of sculpted rose petals in shades of white, offers signature cocktails. Beverages with notes of orange blossom, apricot, cherry and Damask rose are invitations into a lush floral world.
