KATY, Texas (WOAI/KABB) — A woman has been arrested in Florida in connection with the February drowning deaths of her two young daughters after investigators found cocaine in the children’s systems.
Laura Nicholson, 23, was charged Friday with two counts of injury to a child following a three-month investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
On Feb. 11, 2026, detectives responded to a reported drowning of two sisters, ages 2 and 3, at a residence in the 21000 block of Creek Edge Court.
Investigators later determined that both children had cocaine in their systems at the time of their death.

Nicholson was arrested Monday in Florida by the Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team. She was booked into the Lee County Jail.
