In his endorsement for Parlier, Fong said he needs a partner like Parlier fighting at the local level.

“As I fight for Kern County in Washington, I need a partner that can deliver results at the local level,” Fong stated in a release Tuesday. “Chris Parlier is the proven leader we need to steer the ship at the county level, and he has a demonstrated history of protecting our industries and keeping our economy competitive. I’m proud to endorse Chris for Kern County District 2 Supervisor.”

Fong went on to say that Parlier is a “proven advocate” for the county’s oil and agriculture sector, which helps drive the local economy.

“With Parlier at the front lines, our state and federal representatives have greater independence to move long-term initiatives forward that safeguard our economic future.”

Fong’s endorsement is one of the latest backings the supervisors for District 2 have received over the last several weeks.

It comes a day after the Central Valley Business Federation endorsed Parlier and a few weeks after Parlier won the endorsement of both Kern County Sheriff Donny Youngblood and Republican State Senator Shannon Grove.

Parlier will face off against political newcomer Sydney O’Connor, who is a local labor leader for the supervisor seat this election.
