BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Kern County Employers Training Resource is highlighting the resources they offer to oil and gas workers that are changing careers, as well as the on-the-job training programs they provide to local job seekers.

Marketing and Promotions Coordinator Marco Paredes joined Eyewitness News Mornings to share more details.

On-the-job training offers job seekers the opportunity to work a full-time, paid position as they advance their skills or transition to new careers.

The training can also benefit employers by helping them train new hires and access reimbursement for training costs.

More information about this program can be found online at employerstrainingresource.com or by calling (661) 325-HIRE.

Kern County Employers Training Resource also offers programs and services at no-cost to workers that are leaving the oil and gas industry.

They are hosting an information session on Wednesday, May 27, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the America’s Job Center of California on East Belle Terrace.

Any displaced oil and gas workers can RSVP for the information session by calling (661) 742-2217.
