Sacramento deputy arrested in DUI crash while off duty, sheriff’s office says

An off-duty deputy with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, following a multi-vehicle crash in Rancho Cordova earlier this month.The deputy was in an unmarked county vehicle when the crash occurred on May 12 around 4:15 p.m. in the area of Douglas Road and Sunrise Boulevard, the sheriff’s office said. Several cars were involved. There were no injuries. The deputy, who was wearing street clothes, was arrested by Rancho Cordova police, said Edward Igoe, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office.The deputy has since been released after being arrested. The deputy was in an unmarked county vehicle when the crash occurred on May 12 around 4:15 p.m. in the area of Douglas Road and Sunrise Boulevard, the sheriff’s office said.
Several cars were involved. There were no injuries.
