The child was transported to a local hospital for treatment, police said. SJPD said the location is active and ongoing. The condition of the child is not known at this time.

Video footage of the scene obtained by KRON4 showed a large police presence in the neighborhood with the street taped off to traffic. KRON4 has a crew at the scene.

Just before 6 p.m., SJPD provided an update to KRON4, which reads, “This investigation is still active and ongoing. Street closures will continue to be in place for a significant amount of time as officers investigate this incident. We do not have any new updates to provide at this time.”

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
