BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Drivers in Kern County should plan for daytime delays on Bear Mountain Boulevard (State Route 223) as crews perform roadway maintenance that will require one-way traffic control.
Caltrans, in cooperation with Granite Construction, announced one-way traffic control operations for Thursday, May 14, and Tuesday, May 19, on Bear Mountain Boulevard. Work is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

During those hours, Bear Mountain Boulevard will operate under one-way traffic control between Old River Road and Highway 99. Construction zones will be limited to 1.5 miles at a time, and drivers should expect delays of up to 15 minutes during work hours.
Caltrans said closures may continue for longer periods if necessary because of delays caused by weather or other uncontrollable events.
