The City’s World-Famous Halloween Celebration Runs 6–11 p.m. On Santa Monica Boulevard, With Safety Rules, Parking Restrictions, and a Free Weho Halloween Ride.
The West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval, one of Southern California’s most iconic Halloween celebrations, will return Friday, Oct. 31, 2025, transforming Santa Monica Boulevard into a mile-long pedestrian festival filled with costumes, music, and community spirit.
The free event runs from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. along Santa Monica Boulevard between North Doheny Drive and North La Cienega Boulevard, attracting thousands of revelers from across the region.
City officials and the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station are reminding attendees to follow key safety guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable night for all.
Safety Guidelines
Leave young children and pets at home for their safety.
No alcohol consumption is permitted along the route or in public areas.
Weapons and drones are prohibited.
Clear plastic bags are allowed for belongings.
Report suspicious activity — “If you see something, say something.”
Park and Facility Closures
To accommodate the event, several West Hollywood Park facilities will be temporarily closed:
West Hollywood Park — Closed from 12:01 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, to 7 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1.
Dog parks and basketball courts — Closed during the same period.
West Hollywood Park Five-Story Parking Structure — Closed all day Friday; reopens 7 a.m. Saturday.
Library Garage — Closed from 5 a.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday.
Crescent Heights Lot — Closed from Wednesday, Oct. 29, through Sunday, Nov. 2.
Street Closures
Major streets and intersections will close for setup, the event, and cleanup:
North San Vicente Blvd. (Santa Monica Blvd. to Melrose Ave.) — Closed 12 a.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday.
Santa Monica Blvd. (Croft Ave./Holloway Dr. to La Cienega Blvd.) — Closed 10 a.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday.
Santa Monica Blvd. (La Cienega Blvd. to North Doheny Dr., including nearby alleyways) — Closed 10 a.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday.
Robertson Blvd. (Santa Monica Blvd. to Melrose Ave.) — Closed 10 a.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday.
North San Vicente Blvd. (Santa Monica Blvd. to Cynthia St.) — Closed 10 a.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday.
La Cienega Blvd. (Holloway Dr. to Melrose Ave.) — Closed 10 a.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Saturday.
Sunset Blvd. turn lanes onto southbound La Cienega Blvd. — Closed 10 a.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday.
In addition, residential permit parking restrictions will be lifted citywide from 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, through noon Saturday, November 1.
Transportation and Ride Options
The City encourages attendees to use ride-share services or public transit instead of driving. Officials remind the public that driving under the influence is illegal and dangerous — even one drink can impair safe driving.
To support safe travel, the PickUp and Cityline services will suspend their regular routes on Halloween and instead operate a free WeHo Halloween Ride.
Service runs 6 p.m. to 3 a.m., traveling along Santa Monica Boulevard between North La Brea Avenue and North Kings Road.
Select vehicles will also connect to the Hollywood/Highland Metro Station from 6 p.m. to midnight.
