LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Vegas Golden Knights started fast in Anaheim for Game 6 and never looked back, advancing to the next round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Mitch Marner, Brent Howden, and Shea Theodore continued their postseason scoring surges with goals in the opening period. The Golden Knights dominated throughout, defeating the Anaheim Ducks, 5-1, to win the series 4-2 and will meet the Colorado Avalanche in the Western Conference Finals.

Pavol Dorofeyev scored two goals for the Golden Knights to pace the offensive attack as well. The Ducks’ only goal was scored by Mikael Granlund in the second period.

The Golden Knights return to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2023, when they defeated the Dallas Stars in 6 games en route to winning their first Stanley Cup in franchise history. It will be the fifth conference finals appearance for the Golden Knights in their nine-year history.

This isn’t the first time the Golden Knights and Avalanche have met in the playoffs. In 2021, both teams met in the second round, where VGK defeated Colorado 4-2 after the Avalanche took a 2-0 series lead.

The conference final is scheduled to start on Wednesday in Colorado, with the Avalanche going 2-0-1 against the Golden Knights in the regular season.
