Division 1 preview: Steele Canyon’s girls just missed setting the section record in the 4×100 relay at the league finals, running in 46.07 seconds. RBV’s Justian Richardson is the state triple jump leader at 49 feet, 7 inches. Del Norte’s record-setting boys 4×800 relay appears ready.
Division 2 preview: San Dieguito Academy’s Dylan Yarbrough took the state pole vault lead at 17-1, an inch off the section record. Mt. Carmel’s Jaxon Northcutt (8:57.28) is No. 6 in the state in the 3,200.
Division 3 preview: Defending state 110-hurdle champ Jasir Fontenot of Mater Dei Catholic is looking to better his 13.67. Sage Creek’s Josiah Bowman (section 800 record setter at 1:49.54) and La Jolla’s Chiara Dailey (1,600 record-holder at 4:39.31) will probably just run to qualify.
