Orange County Coast and San Diego County Coastal Areas are the focus of a beach hazards statement issued at 11:57 a.m. on Friday by the National Weather Service. The statement is valid from Saturday 6 p.m. until Monday May 18, at 9 a.m.
“Northwest swell from 290 degrees with a period of 9 – 10 seconds will generate surf of 4 – 6 ft, with local sets to 7 ft,” can be anticipated according to the NWS San Diego CA. “High tides of 6.5 to 7 feet combined with elevated may result in minor tidal overflow for beach parking lots and boardwalks. Highest surf will be on west/northwest facing beaches.”
“Hazardous swimming conditions and minor tidal overflow,” according to the NWS. “Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.”
