SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Crews were responding to a gas leak in San Francisco Friday morning on the 1500 block of Sunnydale Avenue. According to the San Francisco Fire Department, the leak, which is between Mrs. Jackson Way and Santos Street, was caused by a construction crew working on the block.

According to PG&E, a third-party contractor struck a gas line, and the utility was notified at 8:22 a.m. The gas line was in a construction zone.

PG&E crews are on the scene to assist and a few residences and businesses in the area are being evacuated as a caution until the incident is resolved. PG&E said its crews were able to stop the flow of gas by 9:56 a.m.

Repairs were made after the gas flow was stopped. No customers were impacted by the incident.
