KitKat, a fixture at Randa’s Market on 16th Street, died late Monday night after allegedly being run over by a Waymo robotaxi. There is now a growing memorial for the beloved neighborhood cat.
SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — People in San Francisco’s Mission District are devastated over the death of a beloved neighborhood cat, allegedly run over by a Waymo.
There’s a growing memorial on 16th Street for “KitKat,” a fixture at Randa’s Market.
KitKat died late Monday night.

For days, ABC7 News has tried to get details from Waymo about what happened.
On Thursday, a company spokesperson said a robotaxi was stopped to pick up passengers, and KitKat darted under the car as it was pulling away.
Waymo will make a donation to an animal rights group in KitKat’s honor.
