CIF San Diego Section Boys Golf Championships
When: Monday at Steele Canyon Golf Club and Wednesday at Torrey Pines South
At stake: The individual championship as well as the team titles in Divisions 1, 2 and 3. The top two teams, plus the 12 lowest-scoring individual golfers not on the top two teams, advance to the SoCal Regional Championship.
Defending champions: Torrey Pines’ Evan Liu won last year’s individual championships, while Torrey Pines (Division 1), Cathedral Catholic (Division 2) and Bishops’ (Division 3) won team titles.
Preview: The five golfers with the lowest differentails (average score across nine holes) going into the tournament are: Liu (-2.43), Yunze Wang (Cathedal Catholic -2.15), Kaden Chang (Carlsbad -1.63), JT Cochrane (Bishop’s -1.49) and Kenyon Kahler (Carlsbad -1.38).
