(FOX40.COM) — Two people were arrested during the DUI checkpoint held by the Sacramento Police Department Friday night into Saturday morning.

SPD said the checkpoint was held from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Del Paso Road.

According to police, over 650 vehicles were screened and 64 licenses were checked. Officers said two people were arrested for DUI and 18 suspended/unlicensed citations were given.

Police remind the community that driving impaired can be prevented by planning ahead and using rideshare, calling a friend or staying at the same location.

“Every checkpoint is a reminder that driving under the influence endangers everyone on the road including you, your passengers, and others traveling beside you,” officials with SPD said.
