A man on a motorized bicycle who was hit and killed by a suspected DUI driver May 15, has been identified by the coroner.

John Mendoza, 39, of Fresno was hit at 10 p.m. on Millbrook Avenue, just south of Gettysburg Avenue, by a white sedan and was pinned underneath the vehicle.

Lifesaving measures were provided, but Mendoza was pronounced dead at the scene.

Pierce said investigators interviewed several witnesses who saw the crash and obtained surveillance video from nearby homes.

Police said Mendoza was riding in the bicycle lane when the collision occurred.

The department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash.

The driver remained at the scene, and she was arrested on suspicion of DUI, according to police.
