(FOX40.COM) — Two pedestrians were injured, including one who suffered major injuries, after a vehicle struck two people Monday evening in Sacramento County, according to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.
Metro Fire said that the collision happened near Eagles Nest Road and Woodring Drive.
When crews arrived, officials reported that firefighters found four people involved in the incident. Two patients from the vehicle were transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
Fire officials said one patient suffered moderate injuries, while another sustained major injuries. The full extent of those injuries was still being determined.

Information about the conditions of the other two people involved had not yet been confirmed.
The California Highway Patrol shut down the roadway in the area and is investigating the cause of the collision.
