SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — After topping the list of the most stolen car model in San Francisco two years ago, Hyundai has been dethroned from the dubious honor. According to new data from the San Francisco Police Department, a pair of familiar brands were once again the most stolen vehicles in SF last year.

Hondas and Toyotas were stolen more than any other vehicle in San Francisco in 2025, the data revealed. There were 416 Hondas stolen in San Francisco, but one model — the Honda Accord — stood out as the single most stolen car in SF last year.
There were 174 Accords stolen in SF in 2025, more than the Honda Civic — 126 — and the Toyota Prius — 100. Hyundai, which was previously the most stolen car in SF, rounded out the top four of individual models with 72 Hyundai Elantras reported stolen in 2025.
The number of auto thefts — both in San Francisco and nationally — saw a decline in 2025.
