As BTS’ Bay Area takeover comes to an end after three sold-out Stanford Stadium concerts, local fans will soon be able to plan visits to an upcoming San Francisco Museum of Modern Art exhibition tied to the famed K-pop boy band. 

The museum announced Wednesday, May 20, that tickets for “RM x SFMOMA: Between You and Me,” the previously announced fall showcase of nearly 150 pieces from BTS leader RM’s personal art collection, will go on sale in August. 

In addition to RM’s pieces, which include works by contemporary Korean artists such as Yun Hyong-keun, Park Rehyun and Kwon Okyon, the exhibition is expected to also feature 40 modern and contemporary works from SFMOMA’s holdings. 

SFMOMA members will have access to a ticket presale starting Aug. 4, while general sales begin one week later, on Aug. 11. Tickets will be reserved by time slots. 

The show is scheduled to open for member previews Oct. 1-3, ahead of its public opening Oct. 3. 

“We live in an age defined by boundaries. This exhibition at SFMOMA reflects those boundaries: between East and West, Korea and America, the modern and the contemporary, the personal and the universal,” RM previously said in a statement. “I don’t want to prescribe how these works should be seen; whether out of curiosity or study, all perspectives are welcome. My only hope is that this exhibition can be a small but sturdy bridge for many.”

“RM x SFMOMA: Between You and Me,” co-curated by RM, SFMOMA’s curatorial project manager América Castillo and assistant curator Hyoeun Kim, will be on view through Feb. 7.  

While there’s still five months until the show’s debut, RM has already spent time exploring the region with his BTS bandmates while in town for their three sold-out concerts in Stanford on Saturday-Sunday, May 16-17 and Tuesday, May 19. 

During downtime between performances, members have been spotted at Redwood City pizza spot Vesta, the Hub Pickleball Club Silicon Valley in Campbell, California’s Great America in Santa Clara and throughout the Stanford University campus. 

Fans also recently discovered that BTS rapper Suga participated in San Francisco’s Bay to Breakers over the weekend, placing in the top 5% of runners.
