Traffic was backed up near Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday night after a gas line and water main were struck during construction, officials said.
The northbound lanes of Sepulveda Boulevard at Imperial Highway and the eastbound and westbound lanes on 96th Street were closed, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The LAFD urged travelers to leave early and check traffic before going near the airport.
Video from the scene shows police vehicles near the construction area helping direct traffic.
It is unclear when the gas line and water main will be restored.
