Firefighters respond to duplex fire in Sacramento

(FOX40.COM) — Firefighters responded to a residential fire in the Sacramento area on Wednesday evening, fire officials said.

The fire at a duplex at 930 Bell Street in Arden-Arcade was reported around 8 p.m., according to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.

Firefighters arrived to find the fire coming from the garage area. No one was found inside the home when it was searched, fire officials said.

No injuries were reported.

The fire was quickly contained. The adjoining unit was damaged by smoke, fire officials said.’

The homeowner told fire officials that the fire may have started near the dryer.

The fire is under investigation.

Fire officials remind community members to get out of their home, call 911 from a safe location, and never go back inside the structure.
