Angels Ruin Early Lead As Athletics Take Another Game In Anaheim In Extra Innings

The Los Angeles Angels just can’t figure out how to win games, even with an early lead.

On Wednesday night, the Angels jumped out to a 5-3 lead after two innings.

Jorge Soler hit a two-run home run to tie things in the first, and both Jo Adell and Josh Lowe hit home runs in the second to extend the lead to 5-3.

The Athletics then scored three runs in the final four innings, including one each in the ninth and the 10th to escape with a 6-5 victory in extra innings.

Nick Kurtz singled in a run in the seventh, and former New York Mets veteran Jeff McNeil hit a game-tying home run in the ninth.

However, it was Tyler Soderstrom who played hero with an RBI single in the 10th, although it was a misplayed ball by the Angels outfielders.

It was the second error of the game for Lowe, and it came at the worst time as the Athletics took the lead and eventually won the game.

Jack Kochanowicz went six innings for the Angels, allowing three runs on three hits with seven strikeouts and four walks.

Chase Silseth got the loss, although he gave up just one hit with an unearned run on the misplayed ball by the outfielders.

Veteran Aaron Civale went five innings, allowing five runs on five hits with all five coming in the first two innings.

Both teams had just six hits, and the Angels went hitless in the final four frames as the bats used all of their energy in the start of the game.

So far, the Athletics have completely outplayed the Angels in this series, with the exception of the ninth inning on Monday and the first two innings on Wednesday.

The series ends on Thursday night in Anaheim. Luis Severino takes the mound for the Athletics with a 2-5 record and a 4.45 ERA, and Jose Soriano looks to rebound as he brings a 6-3 record and a 2.41 ERA into the series finale.

Soriano’s last outing was odd as he went 5.1 innings and allowed just one hit, but he gave up six runs on six walks to lose to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Angels just can not win games, and this is their 10th loss in the last 12 games.

After Thursday’s game, the Angels host the Texas Rangers for a three-game series before a much-needed day off on Monday.
