PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An investigation into the sexual exploitation of a minor resulted in the arrest of a California man in Beaverton on Thursday.

Police arrested 22-year-old Ohygee Dion Paynes of Rio Vista, Calif. on charges including compelling prostitution after he transported a 17-year-old female runaway from another state for the purpose of engaging in sexual acts for money.

The person Payne arranged to meet was an undercover detective working for the Beaverton Police Department.

Police took Payne into custody around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, and said the young girl was safely recovered.

Payne will be lodged at the Washington County Jail, according to a statement from Beaverton police.
