Patriotic concert at BC to kick off holiday weekend

Celebrate America this Saturday at “Off We Go,” a patriotic joint concert taking place at Bakersfield College.

This all-ages performance will feature patriotic music “honoring America and the men a nd women who gave so much to protect and preserve our country,” according to press materials.

The performance will be a collaboration of the Bakersfield Master Chorale, which is concluding its 93rd season, and The Bakersfield Winds, which will feature over 50 instruments in its ensemble.

This concert, directed by David Green and Jennifer Garrett, will also feature the Bakersfield College Chamber Singers.

“Off We Go” will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Edward Simonsen Outdoor Theater on BC’s northeast campus.1801 Panorama Drive.

Admission is $22.46 (includes fee), $11.90 for seniors, military members and children in advance at bakersfieldcollege.edu/community/tickets/performing-arts.html or bakersfieldmasterchorale.org.

Organizers anticipate the show will sell out but some tickets may be available at the door.
