Bullard High remained alive in the Central Section baseball playoffs.
The second-seeded Knights scored five runs in the bottom of the third inning to roll past No. 7 Clovis North 9-1 in a Central Section Division I quarterfinal game at Mike Noakes Field on Tuesday.
Bullard will host No. 11 Redwood at 4 p.m. Thursday in a semifinal game.
Meanwhile in Division III, No. 9 Central Valley stunned top-seeded Kingsburg 4-3.
The Cavaliers scored three runs in the top of the first inning and added a run in the second inning..
Vikings star Jensen Hirschkorn didn’t start since he made his last start in the previous game.
Next up for the ace pitcher is going to LSU or going pro. Hirschkorn is expected to be a high draft pick in the MLB draft in July.
CVC, though, has championships aspirations. Waiting for them is No. 4 Edison, which defeated No. 5 Lemoore 5-4.
