Three suspects tied to a February shooting at a downtown San Jose business are in custody, police said Thursday.
The shooting occurred about 12:45 a.m. on Feb. 15 inside a business in the first block of South Second Street.
A man had been arguing with the suspects when one of them pulled out a gun and allegedly shot the victim multiple times, according to police.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspected shooter, later identified as Sean James Jr., was restrained by employees before being taken into custody by police. A privately-made gun that allegedly belonged to James was found at the scene.
The remaining suspects fled before police arrived.
James was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of attempted murder and various firearm-related crimes.
San Jose gang investigations detectives identified the three other suspects as Isaac Ortiz-Guerrero, Marteis Sims and Gabriel Martinez.
On May 14, Sims was arrested in San Leandro, and Ortiz-Guerrero and Martinez were arrested in San Jose. While carrying out search warrants, detectives allegedly located gang indicia, as well as evidence of the shooting. In addition, an illegal firearm was allegedly found at Ortiz-Guerrero’s home.
All three were booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of attempted murder.
