Summer at Disneyland Park, with all of those brighter nights and balmier temperatures, has long been synonymous with spritely celebrations and easygoing goings-on.
To keep that spirit sparkling, and the summer-style vibes strong, The Happiest Place on Earth just launched “Kids Rule Summer” May 22, with a season of special debuts, colorful character cameos, and cosmic cool just ahead.
The cosmic part is shimmering in Galaxy’s Edge at the Anaheim theme park, thanks to the debut of a new Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run mission featuring The Mandalorian and Grogu. Created in honor of Mando and The Child’s film debut, the mission will feature the opportunity to “communicate directly with Grogu” during the adventure.
If you’re lingering around Batuu after nightfall? “The Curious Child,” a new Grogu-inspired short, will flicker on the spires following “Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga.”
And the charming BDX droids, or “droids-in-training,” if you please? They’ll playfully pop up around Black Spire Outpost over the coming months.

Elsewhere around Disneyland Park, the summer-y spunkiness is on spirited display: “Bluey’s Best Day Ever!,” a song-filled stage show, continues to bring Bluey-fun energy to the Fantasyland Theatre this summer; look also for Bluey foods and beverages for sale at the nearby Troubadour Tavern.
As for the “energy” part of the kid-popular party? Dancing and games are central to the sweet scene.
And, for sure, Bingo, Bluey’s sister, will make an adorable appearance at the celebration, which takes place at a Fun Fair at Bluey’s school.
For longtime supporters of a certain mischievous space traveler sometimes known as 626 and all of his universe-spanning missions, there is “Stitch’s Intergalactic Beach Party Blast!” at Tomorrowland Terrace.
And at Disney California Adventure Park? Make for Hollywood Land for the “Disney Friends Dance Party.”
The warm-weather whimsy extends beyond the parks and into the wider resort: Dug, the loyal pooch known for expressing his most tender feelings with ease in 2009’s “Up,” will lead a dance party every Friday night for guests of the Pixar Place Hotel.
No more hiding under porches for Dug; he’ll out at the hotel’s rooftop lawn area for the playful, week-wrapping gatherings.
