Memorial Day Weekend is here, and there’s plenty to do around Southern California.

Santa Anita Park is going big this Memorial Day Weekend. With a carnival loaded with classic games and thrill rides, a Smorgasburg BBQ Invitational, even a California Beer Festival and a Winter Corgi Nationals, the opportunities are endless.

When: Sunday, May 24, 2026 from 1 to 5 p.m. 

Where: Main Street, Santa Monica (check in @ 2807 Main St.)

It’s a Monopoly-themed food crawl for all ages! This is the 11th edition of the celebration, which offers a chance to try over 20 different restaurants. However, this is the first year where attendees 21+ can “sip and stroll” on alcoholic beverages throughout designated areas of Main Street. There will be lots of fun interactive activities, such as a “Go to Jail” Beer Garden and a best dressed competition, encouraging fans to come in their best top hats and monocles.

When: May 23-25, 2026,  11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Where: centered around Pier Avenue and Hermosa Avenue, Hermosa Beach, CA 90254

Fiesta Hermosa is back for its 53rd year, featuring five music stages. From carnival rides to local vendors to shop from and a variety of foods and wines on site, it is fun for the whole family. Due to limited on-site parking, they offer accessible remote parking and shuttle service to Fiesta, as well as ride-share zones.

When: May 23 and May 24, 2026, noon to 9 p.m.

Where: 400 E Shoreline Drive, Long Beach, CA 90802

The Fourth Annual Long Beach BBQ Festival, hosted by Axiom Productions in collaboration with Noah’s Arc Foundation. Two days of high-quality BBQ food, live music and live fire cooking done by some of the best chefs and pitmasters in the region.

When:  10 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

Where: The Broad, 221 S. Grand Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90012

Influential artist and musician Yoko Ono opens a special exhibit, Yoko Ono: Music of the Mind, on May 23. “Visitors will be invited to directly participate in many of Ono’s works that transform simple acts into expressions of peace and connection.”
