BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A Memorial Day event commemorating veterans memorialized at Bakersfield National Cemetery is set for Monday.
The event is set for Saturday, May 23 at Bakersfield National Cemetery at 30338 East Bear Mountain Blvd. in Arvin, according to the National Cemetery Administration.

The event will also feature Bakersfield Mayor Karen Goh as the guest speaker, officials said.
The keynote speaker for the event is U.S. Air Force Col. Clifton Bell.
The musical prelude will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the ceremony at 9 a.m. Family members who wish to place a flag on their loved one’s gravesite can do so between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.
Music will be provided by the Bakersfield High School Band and the Kern County Sheriff’s Office is set to provide military honors, according to officials.
Parking is available in the southwest area of the cemetery. Officials encouraged guests to be prepared for weather and bring water bottles for hydration.
