Five men were arrested on suspicion of vandalism in a case of graffiti under a freeway in Burbank.
Burbank officers responded at about 9 a.m. May 16 after receiving a call of multiple people applying graffiti under the 5 Freeway.
Officers on observed five people tagging. All five were detained and officers located “slap tags,” — custom sticker art — markers, paint, spray paint nozzles, spray can tips and several spray cans both at the scene and in the men’s vehicles.
Officers located paint rollers, paint pails and a step stool at the scene. Some of the graffiti was approximately 70 feet high and 200 feet long, police told NBC4 Investigates.
One of the men claimed he has been tagging since he was 11 years old. All five men were over the age of 40, according to arrest records.
