(FOX40.COM) — A jury has convicted a man for a deadly 2022 bar shooting in south Sacramento County that killed one and injured three others, the Sacramento District Attorney’s Office said Thursday.

The shooting occurred on April 17, 2022, at Goeman’s Bar on Franklin Boulevard in the Parkway area. The business is now known as Score Bar & Lounge. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office responded just after midnight on Easter morning.

Joel Tyrone Zeigler, then age 31, fired seven shots at a person he believed had been involved in the shooting of his brother, prosecutors said. Three bystanders were also hit, including Robert Earl Daniel, who was shot in the back and died from his injuries.

A jury found Zeigler guilty of second-degree murder, attempted murder and three counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm, the district attorney’s office said.

Zeigler faces a maximum sentence of 123 years to life in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for July 24. An allegation Zeigler has a prior strike conviction for robbery and carjacking could affect his sentencing, the attorney’s office said.
