U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized 163 pounds of methamphetamine at the California-Mexico border, the agency announced Friday.
The drugs were found inside a hidden compartment in the bed of a white truck driven by a pair of alleged honeymooners.
“Two travelers rolled up to [U.S. customs officers in] San Diego claiming their honeymoon excursion was all about adventure, but their travel items raised eyebrows,” U.S. Customs and Border Protection said. “… Not every story is as it seems.”

A CBP Office of Field Operations K9 alerted officers to search the truck. During the search, officers found dozens of bags of meth stashed inside the compartment.
The agency did not specify what criminal charges the alleged couple could face following the bust.
