A Lake County man was held on suspicion of homicide and torture after a road rage spree that included Napa County, authorities said.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said it responded to reports of shots fired near Highway 29 and Point Lakeview Road in Kelseyville Riviera around 8:30 a.m. Friday. Deputies learned it was an apparent road rage shooting, though the assailant had fled.
During the investigation, the Napa County Sheriff’s Office contacted the agency hours later about a road rage shooting in Calistoga. Napa County deputies had arrested Coleman Rocheleau, 38, of Kelseyville on suspicion of firing shots at another motorist, whose condition was not released.
During the Napa County investigation, Lake County detectives responded to a request to conduct a welfare check in Kelseyville Riviera, where they found a woman’s body. The sheriff’s office did not reveal the circumstances of that death or the connection to Rocheleau, and the victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Rocheleau was transported to Lake County, where he was booked on suspicion of homicide and torture Friday night.
