A man was killed and two women were injured in an early-morning shooting Sunday in Long Beach.
The incident happened just after 12:10 a.m. in the 3200 block of Caspian Avenue, according to a Long Beach Police Department news release.
Arriving officers located three victims, all suffering gunshot wounds to the upper body.
“Officers rendered medical aid until relieved by the Long Beach Fire Department, who transported the victims to a local hospital,” the release stated. “The male adult victim succumbed to his injuries. The two female victims were transported in stable condition.”

Investigators said the suspect or suspects responsible for the gun violence fled the scene before officers arrived.

Authorities did not release the names of the two surviving women and said the deceased victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.
