(FOX40.COM) — A motorcyclist is dead and a driver has fled the scene after a vehicle-versus-motorcycle collision in South Sacramento on Monday evening.
The collision happened on Florid Road west of Power Inn Road around 6:30 p.m., according to a CHP South Sacramento spokesperson.
That vehicle involved fled the scene. It’s described as a possible bright blue Nissan Maxima, the spokesperson said.
The vehicle was traveling southbound on Power Inn Road and turned westbound on Florin Road, the spokesperson said. The driver then made an illegal U-turn onto eastbound Florin Road, directly in front of the motorcycle.
The motorcycle rider died while being transported to the hospital, the spokesperson said.
The vehicle was last seen southbound on Power Inn Road. There is no suspect information available at this time.
