(FOX40.COM) — Halloween is one of the busiest and spookiest nights of the year here in Sacramento, so FOX40 is taking you to the famous ‘Fab 40’s’ neighborhood.
“They’re always on point around here. Always,” One neighbor said.
“Happy Halloween,” families said.
You hear a lot of that — strutting down Sacramento’s 40th through 49th streets.
Decorations, lights, candy and, of course, plenty of unique characters took over east Sacramento.
“I’m dressed as Elpheba and I’m dressed as Glinda,” two 15-year-olds said.
“This is our first time dressing up as a family, so we are a group of astronauts,” one local family said. “We’ve got our little alien that we’re very excited about!”
All these friendly — or maybe not-so friendly — faces told FOX40 their own personal favorite parts of this annual trick-or-treating tradition.
“Watching her light up,” a proud father said.
“Glinda” said the streets feel like magic and take you on adventures and places you never expected to stumble across in Sacramento.
“They all have themes and it’s just, like a very, magical moment,” she said.
Other young trick-or-treaters said trick-or-treating and raking in the candy is unbeatable.
This Halloween FOX40 also spotlighted some of the people who make it all happen.
Neighbors like Pamela and Michael said the fun isn’t just for the kids.
“Kids are coming, they have great costumes, so we are having a lot of fun,” Michael said. “We’re putting candy out. We’re dancing.”
According to some residents, in this community, there’s no such thing as too early. They said some families began the action around 3:30 p.m. or even earlier.
Before we hang up the costumes and start thinking about what this whimsical strip of our community will look like for Christmas, FOX40 asked some happy people for one more message for good measure.
“Happy Halloween!!!!!” they screamed.
