One person was injured in a shooting Tuesday afternoon in the parking lot of Valley Fair Mall in San Jose after a suspected road rage confrontation escalated into gunfire, police said.
Officers responded to the mall at about 4 p.m. to reports of a person shot in the 2800 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard, according to the San Jose Police Department. When they arrived, they found one victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound in the mall parking lot.
Investigators believe the victim and suspect may have been involved in a road rage dispute before the shooting. Officers found the alleged shooter nearby, arrested him and took his firearm, police said.
The victim was taken to a hospital and was listed in stable condition, police said.
