Bakersfield Fire Department HazMat team contains oil spill on Stockdale Highway

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — An oil spill was contained and prevented from going into the storm drains on Stockdale Highway Tuesday morning.

The Bakersfield Fire Department said on Tuesday, May 26, at around 9:30 a.m., crews responded to a HazMat Level 1 oil spill incident near Stockdale Highway and Allen Road.

The HazMat Team quickly contained the spill, protected nearby storm drains, and worked alongside the City of Bakersfield Streets Department to safely mitigate the incident and reopen the roadway.
