A San Jose classroom aide was arrested last week after allegedly sending sexual messages to teenage girls, police said.

The San Jose Police Department said Wednesday that Heriberto Plascencia, 31, allegedly shared “inappropriate messaging and conversations” with a juvenile student at a school in the 1500 block of Branham Lane, the location of Branham High School. Plascencia was employed as a classroom aide at the high school, police said.

During their investigation, the San Jose Internet Crimes Against Children task force identified a second teenager who said she was also victimized by the aide. Plascencia was arrested in San Jose on May 21 and booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for sending harmful materials to a minor and for annoying or molesting a minor.

“Due to Suspect Plascencia’s position of trust, detectives believe there may be additional victims,” police said. Anyone with information about the case was encouraged to contact police at 408-277-3214 or by email at 4581@sanjoseca.gov.
