This year the San Diego County Fair is packed with new foods, fun experiences, and the theme “Once Upon a Fair.”

From sweet treats to savory meals, visitors will have a wide array of food options to try when the fair opens June 10.

One of the fair’s most iconic vendors is Charlie Boghosian, better known as “Chicken Charlie.” This year he’s introducing some new items in his menu.

Boghosian is revamping fair classics with creations such as an Ube funnel cake.

“Now, I’m going to put some powdered sugar at the bottom. We’re going to put some ube powder on top, and this is some ube sauce. An ube funnel cake,” he said.

Another must-try item comes from Jeanette Vieira, who is behind the “Corn Star” stand. Vieira is introducing her “Sweet Mac and Heat Potato.” A loaded sweet potato that is sweet, spicy and savory.

There are many more food options to try at the San Diego County Fair. The fair runs from June 10 through July 5. Admission is $5 until 5 p.m.
