BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Bakersfield Police Department is asking for the community’s help in identifying a man accused of breaking into a classroom and stealing items for an upcoming fundraising event.

Police said on Monday, May 18th, 2026, the man allegedly broke into a classroom at Paul L. Cato Middle School in the 4100 block of Vineland Road at around 7 p.m. and stole numerous items for an upcoming fundraising event.

The suspect is described as a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
