Firefighters battling a brush fire in Brenthwood were able to stop forward progress Thursday.
As the vegetation fire burned 3.5 acres near Skirball Center, authorities shut down three southbound lanes along the 405 Freeway for a few hours. The California Highway Patrol also urged drivers to use caution when traveling through the area.
While no structures are threatened, the LA Fire Department launched an offensive operation by establishing hoselines.
Winds were blowing at around 5 miles per hour as of Thursday afternoon.
About 60 firefighters were sent to the scene to stop forward progress in 35 minutes, the LAFD said.
No one was injured.
