Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a home in Clairemont after a Tesla plowed into a home, injuring six people on Thursday, including a minor.
The car crashed into a single-floor detached home in the 4600 block of Chateau Drive around 11 a.m. According to city of San Diego public information officer José Ysea, two vehicles — the Tesla and a Mercedes — were traveling south on Diane Avenue when the crash occurred. Five people in the Tesla were hurt, officials said, and one person riding in the Mercedes was injured.
Ysea told NBC 7 that no one inside the home was injured when it crashed into the living room, but the city fire marshal red-tagged the property, which was significantly damaged.
Video from SkyRanger 7 shows the red Tesla just about all the way inside the side of the house. It took out a gazebo, narrowly missing a pool. It’s not clear where the people were when they were hurt in the crash.
