If Burbank were a day of the week, it would likely be a Saturday, and specifically a Saturday morning.
The mountain-adjacent media wonderland boasts an up and at ’em character most days of the week, but its downtown area, movie theaters, colorful Horror Row along Magnolia Boulevard, local coffeehouses, and busy parks lend it a weekend-starting aura.
It’s an ideal spot for a sizable arts-and-crafts-and-wearables-and-dog-toys-and-home-goods festival to land, and land the Downtown Burbank Summer Arts Festival shall, on May 30 and 31.
Indeed, it all begins on a Saturday morning, but a little later, around 11 a.m., when you’ve had your coffee and romp in the park.
After 11 a.m., shoppers and browsers and fans of handmade treasures will be out to browse an array of soaps and ceramics and purses and scarves and stickers and noshable goodies.
Entry is free, and there will be other diversions beyond the item-packed tables and stands, though those shall be plentiful and will take some time to stroll by: Over 170 artisan booths are expected.

Jackalope, the Indie Art Fair that is also known for hopping by Pasadena’s Central Park twice a year, is presenting the two-day craft-tacular.
