San Diego police are investigating after a married couple was found dead in an apparent murder-suicide inside a Del Mar home on Saturday morning, officials said.

Police were called just after 7 a.m. to the home on Caminito Del Pasaje near Del Mar Scenic Parkway,  Lt. Chris Tivanian said in a press release Saturday.

Officers responded to the home and found Johann and Kaethe Oesterreicher, 83, with fatal gunshot wounds. The married couple both died at the scene, police said.

Police recovered a gun inside the home, officials said. Tivanian said San Diego police homicide detectives are investigating.
