The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank set up a food assistance drive-thru at the Kia Forum on Saturday for Angelenos who’s SNAP benefits have been disrupted by the government shut down. About 5,000 cars streamed through, each loaded up with bags and boxes of fresh produce, frozen chicken, yogurt and shelf stable items like whole grains and cans of tuna.
